Chaconnery : for bassoon duet
Score
Chaconnery : for bassoon duet / Michael Hannan.
Library shelf no. 785.85812/HAN 1 [Not for loan]
Work Overview
Chaconnery (an amalgam of the words chaconne and chicanery) was commissioned by Sophia Rhee as part of her PhD in Music degree project at the University of Western Sydney. Sophia's rationale for a number of such commissions to Australian composers was the idea of expanding the repertoire of Australian bassoon music, by identifying gaps in instrumental combinations involving bassoon, gaps in degree of difficulty, and gaps in style and genre.
