Work Overview
Train in the Night is an image/remembrance of sound, of a specific memory from my Winter Music Residency at The Banff Centre, Canada. Imagine, in the very early hours of the morning, complete stillness, in the depths of the dark night, snow falling (-30 degrees), absolute silence, miles from anywhere. You hear the sound of a distant train, almost inaudible. This is an expression of that kind of silence, a little empty feeling, perhaps wondering if that sound even existed, wondering where that train is going..
