Work Overview
I found the similarities between studying music and anthropology. They both suggest traces of social influences and culture imprints. Studying the traditional instrument 'Sape' from Sarawak, Malaysia provided me much pleasure in hunting for little pieces of information; each reveals a little of this mysterious tribe. Also, it is fascinating to find some common characteristics in some other south-Asia's tribal music. However, this work is not an imitation of their music. In a way, it is more like a story of Sarawak told by an Australian; an imagination than an imitation.
