Work Overview
When the work was commissioned, it was requested that it was sympathetic to the date of the first performance, Valentine's Day, 2016. The Eternal Triangle reflects on the passions and problems of a brief and unexpected love affair and while it begins boldly and dramatically, the ultimate realisation that the affair would come to nothing leads to a quiet and reflective ending. It is ideal as a concert opener, and prepares the audience for all kinds of work to follow it.
