Work Overview

The work is a double metaphor on the Thousand Steps path in the Dandenong Ranges, recognising its popularity as a strenuous walk, and its role as a memorial for those who suffered on the Kokoda track. The technical demands and musical language are deliberately geared to non-professional players, while not compromising artistic goals.
