Work Overview
The work is intended as art music, but with a tinge of jazz.
'Tangent Blues is a blues (that is, a jazzy theme and variations) that goes off on tangents (albeit arguably logical ones, rendering it like a jazzy sonata form). To be played with verve. Requires a willingness to take on the "personas" of flautist, alarm clock, dragonfly, angel, double bass and kick-arse merchant, amongst others.'
