Work

Between shadow and half-light : for clarinet in Bb

by Anthony Lyons (2002)

Work Overview

Between Shadow and Half-Light explores some of the wonderful shades of colour the clarinet is capable of producing. Melodic moments arise, develop and disappear through the works developmental arc. There are shifts and contrasts in register, dynamic and tempo, some sudden and some gradual. Overall, Between Shadow and Half-Light is a lyrical work that retains a solitary, reflective feel - reminiscent of still time at late dusk or early evening.
