Work Overview

Three-movement symphonic suite for piano and orchestra.

'This Symphonic Suite focuses on the dilemma of addiction. The overriding tragedy of this malady is denial, and the absolute obsession that one day, the sufferer will gain control over the problem. It is the insanity of doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, which is at the core of addiction. To illustrate this, I have deliberately stayed in the home key throughout the work, to emphasise this aspect of addiction and create a tragic soundscape'.
