Work Overview

The first movement provides the overall context for the work, which for this double concerto is about sharing, discussing, agreeing, between the two soloists. Simply being together and arriving at the same place. Knowing that Isabel and Paula love working together, this is the way I thought this work should go.

The melodic line in the second movement has a slight Arabesque feel. Hence the subtitle "Zarabanda."

Mov. 3 Rondo - Allegro giocoso. Bright, brilliant, virtuosic. Always returning to the main theme after a bit of fun and free flight. This third movement is a rondo full of playfulness with plenty of opportunity to show off.
