The title - Cruising Around - reflects both the "cruisy"
feel of the music as well as its structure. It has three 8-bar
contrasting sections. In the Full version they are arranged in
Rondo form - A B A C A.
The Abridged version uses only the A and B sections arranged in
Ternary form - A B A. It can also be used by more advanced
pianists for sight-reading practice.

The melody of the A section has a strong blues inflection with the use of the blues scale on D, including the flattened fifth (Ab) and seventh (C).
