Work Overview
"I am inspired by the instrumentation of the ensemble combining string with accordion. The result is dramatic, intense and rich. When I encountered recordings of their work I was impressed with the quality of the playing and the sensuous amalgam of sonic possibilities. Being a string player myself it is a privilege and joy to write for this line-up. I am excited by the theme of the concert for which they would like to program the new piece, being the end of time December 2012. In this topic there is a sense of science and mystery, which provokes many creative possibilities."
