This piece was inspired by a large flock of softly communicating Black Swans on Lake Bindegolly in far SW Queensland, and all of the sounds in the keyboard part were derived from a recording made at the lake in July 2000.
Instrumentation: 2 violins, viola, cello, MIDI keyboard (5 octaves controlling computer program 'Vsampler") ; amplifier and speakers required.
Duration: 4 min.
Difficulty: Advanced — Not too difficult, but intonation requires a "good ear".
- Inspired by: Birdsong
