Score
Capricci Australiani, op. 25 : 7 pieces for solo violin / Calogero Panvino.
Library shelf no. 787.2/CAL 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
With the exception of Thylacine, the pieces in the set, Capricci Australiani, were composed with the dual aim of creating suitable works for advanced violin students in high school who require a composition by an Australian composer as part of the their final performance assessment, and of bringing to musical life some of Australia's most iconic fauna. To this latter end, knowledge about the chosen animals was used not only to determine the character of the music but also some of the sounds contained therein.
