Sailing for the sun : for unaccompanied SATB chorus / John Peterson.
Library shelf no. 782.55542/PET 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
The first performance of this piece was at a beach at sunrise and I have, therefore, tried to ensure that the character of the music reflects, in some ways, the geographical setting and the circumstances surrounding the early morning performance. To this end the music moves from a slow and mysterious beginning, evoking the pre-dawn light, towards a confident and positive ending that is meant to coincide with the arrival of the sun's rays over the beach.
