Work Overview
This work is based on the standard American piece, "The Three Camps", a piece of rudimental drumming that was played as reveille till the late nineteenth century. It develops the concept of "three" by using three drums, extending the work to three sections and introducing the idea of three 'pitches'. From letter C the abbreviated sixteenth notes produce the effect of a continuous roll with accents superimposed on it.
