Cantus : three pieces for piano / Haydn Reeder.

Work Overview

Interrupted calm begins with the playing of a theme which forms the basis of both pieces. This theme begins and ends on the same note and in the first piece this note provides areas of calm. In Flame the theme is treated as a slow-moving cantus firmus, that is, the basis of the harmony.
