Work Overview

This is an extended latin-based piece, written in part to feature the conga playing of Fabian Hevia. It also includes a section inspired by the approach of Ornette Colman's group Prime Time.

Commission note: This piece was composed for 'Greening from Ear to Ear' a seven piece group led by Sydney musician and band leader James Greening.

The composer ntoes the following styles, genres, influences, etc associated with this work:
Latin jazz influences mixed withe some more open improvisatory influences such as Ornette Colman. The influence of Sydney groups Wanderlust (Miroslav Bukovsky) and The catholics (Lloyd Swanton) can also be heard in this work.
