Work Overview
This Kyrie is based on my my Catholic heritage and ancestry, also years of singing in the classical, sacred, and Celtic traditions. A translation of the words is provided. The piece was written in Armagh (Ard Macha) City, County Armagh (Ard Macha), Northern Ireland as part of a larger project, 'Song as a Sacred Pathway into Nature'. The piece was composed on the leafy pathway of the mall in the town, with pen and paper, then reheased and completed at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, where I was Composer in Residence for one week. The project was supported by the Australian Cultural Fund.
