Work Overview

Homeland is a gentle, reflective slow tempo jazz piece that features a melody played on the double bass over a 'four beats to the bar' harmonic sequence played in the left hand of the piano. The drummer accompanies gently with brushes (or a shaker can be used as per the recording). This sequence is repeated for solos. There is an option for the drummer to accompany the piano solo with sparse improvised glockenspiel phrases if they would like to do so.
