Work Overview
Threading the Maze is a melodic jazz piano trio piece in a medium slow tempo. The piece follows a set harmonic progression arranged in three sections, and employs rhythmic repetition and displacement to create interest between the parts. The improvisation section follows the same harmonic progression as the melody section. Solos are for piano and double bass. There is a return to the melody at the end of the piece.
