Work Overview

A neo-classic work originally conceived for brass quintet, Variations and Capriccio demonstrates the rhythmic influence of Tippett and the textural characteristics of Britten, combining these with Debussyian parallel chordal movement and Hindemithian quartal writing to form a contrasting palette of blended styles.
