Work Overview
Percy Grainger's early work for piano (written when aged 16 - 1898) has an enigmatic and haunting quality - pianissimo throughout. My arrangement seeks to amplify these qualities through the use of a glass harmonica (or musical glasses) as solo instrument. Grainger loved the sounds such instruments make. It may be played with harp or string accompaniment, or a combination of all three. Only a small group of strings are required.
