Missa Brevis : for SATB choir / Paul Stanhope.

Work Overview
This Missa Brevis is a student work which I composed between 1990 and 1992. It received its first performance by the Wollongong University Singers (cond. David Vance) in 1992, and was withdrawn a few years later.
The second edition of this piece irons out some of the problems in the original which included text underlay idiosyncrasies. I have also made countless other small revisions with the benefit of hindsight.
It is hoped that this piece will be useful for both liturgical and concert performances. A Credo movement is omitted, and should instead be spoken by the congregation if the piece is sung liturgically. The text is in both English and Latin: the entire text appears in English, while only elements of the Latin are incorporated.
