Work Overview
Rimsky-Korsakoff transcribed the original Russian theme, The Bride's Farewell, for women's chorus. My score is greatly transformed in melody and harmony but faithful in mood to this wedding eve song which dates from the time of stolen and bought brides. The meter is 5/4.
