Work Overview

This lovely carol (suitable for Advent/Christmas) embodies notions of kenosis, self-emptying, as described in Philippians 2. This is depicted multiple ways in the piece: through the downward descent of the organ pedal line, through the flowing mellifluous quavers, and the continuing downward trend of melodic lines.
