Work Overview
The term the quickening is defined as the very first time a mother feels her baby move in her womb. My recollections of the quickening inspired me to use the term when referring to the signs of commencement, return or renewal of other forms life-be they spiritual, mental, sensual and/or artistic.
The other signification of the term the quickening refers to the process of rapid acceleration and increase. For example, I witness the phenomenon in which each moment is so packed with multiple experiences, that, rather than having the effect of expanding time, time appears to be moving more rapidly. This phenomenon is further exaggerated by the acceleration of events around the world and the increasingly rapid exchanges of information that occur globally.
