Work Overview
This is a programmatic composition projecting the ideas conjured in "Basics" by Carlo Muncey. The first movement contrasts the image of "bones falling on cobblestones" with the chilling sound of a "Chamberlin". In the second movement I present the restrained sounds of a "beating heart" and "ticking clock" that appear through the silence. The concept of a "Timely Disarray" is then explored through the chaotic texture at the start of the third movement with dissonant scalic passages in the Flute and French Horn. This is also explored harmonically in the contrast between traditional harmony and minimalist ideas as the piece progresses
