Work Overview
This piece is partly inspired by the colours and vibrancy of the
city of Kandy in central Sri Lanka. This picturesque city is
situated in a hilly district, and is a place of stark contrasts:
many steep and narrow roads; a bustling and colourful business
district; plenty of lush,
tropical vegetation; and quieter, somewhat ramshackle hillside
villages.
The music itself draws influences from Bebop, Blues and the
Baroque.
