Instrumentation: Narrator, piccolo, clarinet, bassoon (doubling contrabassoon), trumpet, percussion, piano, violin, cello. Music can be pre-recorded, in which case actors use dummy instruments (with exception of piano).

Commission note: Commissioned by the Melbourne Organ and Harpsichord Festival for the Australia Council.
Narration is used throughout and the players are also the actors.
