Work Overview

Written while I was Composer in Residence at Trinity Grammar School and was endeavouring to write pieces for the boys that would be immediately playable and also able to communicate to a wider school community at first listening.

Instrumentation: 3 voices, 3-part treble choir, 4 speaking parts, 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 2 trombones, tuba, euphonium, percussion (3 players).

Difficulty: Medium — Written for (high school) student performers.

Commission note: Commissioned by Trinity Grammar School (Sydney).. Written as part of an Australia Council Composer Residency

Text is taken from Psalms 35, Genesis III and Jeremiah 10.

Instrumentation and singers may be varied to suit performing body.
