Mirror Lakes is a concert piece for small orchestra, suitable for performance by high-school or semi-professional ensembles. The piece is written as an atmospheric reflection on the mirror lakes found within New Zealand. Intricate melodic lines and delicate orchestrational textures are a feature of this piece.
Instrumentation: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 2 trumpets in B flat, 2 tenor trombones, tuba, harp, piano, percussion (3 players), strings (10.8.6.6.4).
