This month, the AMC welcomes three new Directors to serve on the AMC Board. We are thrilled that Gina, Tracy and Alison are joining the organisation with their collective wisdom, energy and enthusiasm for Australian Music and the work of the AMC.

Thank you to our departing Board members, Jana Gibson and Margaret Barrett, who have given so much of their time and energy to the organisation.

Alison Wright

Alison Wright - Head of Membership APRA AMCOS

Alison Wright joined APRA AMCOS in 2021 as Divisional Head Membership. She has responsibility for delivering and innovating a broad suite of services to the full breadth of APRA AMCOS' global membership, including music publishing enterprise members, individual established songwriters and composers, and grassroots emerging songwriters across all genres.

Alison has over 20 years' experience in leadership roles across diverse industries, including the Arts sector. Her career has traversed multiple industries and most recently she was the CEO of the National Health Cooperative. She served as Assistant Director, Engagement and Development at the National Gallery of Australia (NGA) for five years and spent almost eight years in China, as Managing Partner at Red Bridge Communications, and Director Corporate Affairs, Asia Pacific for Visteon. She commenced her early career as a journalist with the ABC.

Alison is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course, and a former Board Director of the ACT Domestic Violence Crisis Service.

Tracy Morgan

Tracy Morgan, MBA (Macq.), CAHRI, GAICD

Tracy has over 25 years' executive and consulting experience, including 10 years running her own consulting practice, working with organisations navigating change. Her career spans strategy facilitation and development, change management, financial management, executive search, human resources consulting and organisational design.

Tracy's board roles include NED, Co-Deputy Chair and Chair Finance & Audit Committee for Wesley Mission, Chair of The Housing Connection, and Non-Executive Director roles at Sylvanvale Disability Services and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.

Gina Williams AM

Gina Williams AM

Gina Williams is a Balladong (Noongar) woman with links through her grandmother's line to the Gitja people of the East Kimberley. She is one of those rare performers who captures hearts and imaginations by connecting deeply through the power of song. You know when it happens, there's that magical moment when a hush falls over the room; you can feel it, and you know it's special. It's even more special when it's in a rare language.

Yet that's exactly what Noongar singer-songwriter Gina Williams has been doing with audiences all over the world. You don't need to understand the words; love, loss, joy all means the same things no matter how you say it.

With less than 400 speakers of this language left in Western Australia, Gina brings (with guitarist and collaborator Guy Ghouse) a modern take on ancient traditions, matching powerful storytelling, guitar brilliance and that incredible, incandescent voice. The natural rhythms of the language are perfectly captured, and there's a disarming onstage presence that comes from a heart that simply refuses to surrender her voice and language to silence.

Winner, 2013, 2014 2015, 2016 & 2018 WA Music Industry Indigenous Act of the Year (with Guy Ghouse), Winner, Aboriginal Category, 2017 West Australian of the Year Awards, Inductee, 2018 West Australian Women's Hall of Fame, 2022 appointed Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (General Division), Patron, Fairbridge Festival, APRA/AMCOS Ambassador, Patron (with Guy Ghouse) Perth International Cabaret Festival.

2021 career highlights include sold-out Perth show "Koort" for Perth Festival, sold out season of opera debut Koolbardi wer Wardong (with West Australian Opera), pre-match entertainment (with John Butler, The Waifs, Stella Donnelly, Eskimo Joe and Baker Boy) AFL Grand Final, launch of book Kalyakoorl, ngalak warangka (Forever, we sing), published by Magabala Books.
