Australian Music on ABC Classic FM in January 2012

Australian Music on ABC Classic FM in January 2012

In January 2012 on ABC Classic FM, In Performance presents a week of concerts by young and emerging musicians (14-21 January) bookended by two live broadcasts from the 2012 Australian Youth orchestra's Summer School. New Music Up Late responds with six programs of broadcast premieres from young and emerging composers around the country. And there's a second chance to catch the Australian World Orchestra on the radio, along with more Australian music in our Best of Sunday Live repeat broadcast series.

On the Australian music website, we're taking a little break as we prepare to move classic/amp to its new home early in 2012. Meanwhile you can check out the current state of the collection and listen to Australian music from the past 100 years at www.abc.net.au/classic/australianmusic/presented. And of course, if you haven't yet subscribed, there is still the past three months of podcasts available. Hear conversations with composers and sound artists and sounds from site-specific sound art, plus performances of new music by ELISION and by The Song Company.
