[Update: Melbourne dates added]
Composer Liza Lim returns to Australia to present a series of insightful masterclass, workshop and public forum sessions. Organised by the New Music Network in Perth (27 November), Sydney (29 November) and Melbourne (2 December), the forum consists of a composition masterclass, a composition workshop and a public lecture. Places to these free events are limited - four participants for masterclasses and 15 for the composition workshops. A booking form and more information is available on the New Music Network website.

The public lecture on the topic of 'Patterns of ecstatic transformation' is open to the general public (for booking information, please visit the NMN website). Several works by Lim will be discussed, including her operas Moon Spirit Feasting (1999) and The Navigator (2008) and the way elements from Australian Aboriginal, South East Asian Chinese and European sources have been woven into Lim's compositional practice over the last ten years.

An internationally acclaimed Australian composer, Liza Lim is currently living in the UK where she holds the position of Professor of Composition at the University of Huddersfield.

The composer forum is funded through a collaborative project by the Australia Council for the Arts and the IETM (International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts) and managed by the New Music Network, with support from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and the University of Melbourne.
