Create NSW funding to music projects

The Create NSW Arts & Cultural Funding program has announced $2.7 million in new grant funding, including projects by several AMC-represented artists. Last week's announcement included $20K to Andrée Greenwell for the second stage development of her chamber opera Three Marys; $19K to Alana Blackburn for a new collaborative work with composer Ros Bandt; $19.5K to austraLYSIS for recording duets for musicians, computers and other media; $20K to Liza Lim for 'Re-imagining the String Quartet Festival'; $20K to Jeremy Rose for album composition, recording and performance with the Earshift Orchestra; and $10.3K to Alexandra Spence for performance and skills development. Other music grant recipients included Steel City Strings ($26K) and the Metropolitan Orchestra Incorporated ($53K).

Round 2 grants also include lots of regional and multi-arts grants; $451K in total for Aboriginal arts and cultural recipients; and grants for many contemporary music projects, theatre and dance.
