Farewell Brennan Keats OAM
Image: Brennan Keats We recently heard of the passing of our dear colleague and friend Brennan Keats OAM, co-founder of Wirripang, the leading Australian independent print music publisher of Australian classical and jazz music.
Brennan and his wife Anne commenced Publishing by Wirripang (as it was originally called), specialising in the publishing of books and fine Australian music, establishing a way of preserving music of Australian composers for future generations. Wirripang works with the Australian Music Centre to help increase the visibility and access to music scores and recordings by Australian composers.
In 2014, Brennan and Anne were presented with the Medal of the Order of Australian for their important service to music as a publisher of music by contemporary Australian composers.
Brennan passed away on 1 February 2023. Wirripang continues to operate under Anne's helm.
