The AMC has been informed of the passing of Prue Neidorf. She died in Canberra on 18 January 2023.

Prue Neidorf was a significant figure in Australia's musical life and was a staunch supporter of Australian music.

She was a key figure in the Australian Music Centre's history as one of the signatories of the organisation's Articles of Association in 1974, and a founding member of the Board of Directors.

She was a lifelong Member and a generous supporter of the AMC over the decades.

Prue was known most notably as the Music Librarian at the National Library of Australia (NLA) - a post she held for twenty years.

She was instrumental in the digitisation of the AMC's catalogue in the early 2000s, and forged an important and long-standing relationship between the AMC and the NLA which continues today.

Her support for Australian music extended widely. Prue was also a Board member of the Music Council of Australia and of the Four Winds Festival. She was an active member of the Australian Branch of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML).

We acknowledge Prue's outstanding and long-lasting contributions to Australian music, and we send our deepest condolences to Prue's family and friends.
