AMC Represented Artist Liza Lim has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2023 King's Birthday Honours announced on Monday 12 June.

The honour recognises her "significant service to the performing arts as a music composer and academic".

Liza is known for placing cross-cultural practice at the heart of her music. She is currently the Peter Sculthorpe Chair of Australian Music at the Sydney Conservatorium, where she led the innovative Composing Women program between 2018 to 2022.

In an article on Limelight, Liza has said, "I'm honoured and very humbled to receive this award. To me, it affirms the importance of music and music education to a culturally diverse and inclusive Australia. Music changes lives - music's power gives you ways of reaching parts of yourself that nothing else can. Music is for everyone."

We congratulate Liza on receiving this distinguished honour.
