New Music Network concerts in three cities in 2010

The New Music Network is expanding its concert series to include events in three Australian cities: Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. A collective of contemporary music ensembles, sound artists and organisations from around the country, the New Music Network launches its 2010 program with a concert in Sydney on 31 March by The Song Company and Synergy Percussion, and goes on to present a dozen more events by some of Australia's leading artists and ensembles. One of the most eagerly anticipated events will be the annual Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address, presented this year by conductor Simone Young on 6 August (Sydney) and 11 August (Melbourne). The now firmly established, separate Mini Series will add a further five events to the NMN calendar.

For more information about the events and the Network, please see the NMN website. All these events will also shortly be included in the AMC's own events calendar.

By facilitating the performance, awareness and appreciation of music by these creative artists, it aims to increase their profile and the sustainability of their art form. Established in 1974, the AMC is now the leading provider of information, resources, materials and products relating to Australian new music.
