Opportunity: Albert H Maggs Award
Applications are open for the Albert H Maggs Composition Award, provided as a commission for the creation of a musical work of a substantial nature. The value of the award offered will be approximately $7,000 for the commissioned new musical work, with a performance subsidy of approx. $3,000.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 12 September 2014.
The Award is open to any Australian composer who has been a continuous resident in Australia for at least two years before the closing date for applications. Previous awardees are welcome to apply.
Applications will be assessed by a selection committee and should include a list of works, an overview of commissions, publications and performances, and a score and matching recording of one composition written in the last three years.
Applications can be completed online, with the exception of the score and the recording which will need to be sent as hard copies. Full details and online applications on the University of Melbourne website.
