Tim Doubinski : Associate Artist

Tim Doubinski is an Australian composer and conductor based in
Sydney, currently completing his final year of study under Carl
Vine at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Tim's compositions and arrangements have been performed and
recorded by a number of established ensembles including the
Australian Youth Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra, and Sydney
Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, and New Music Ensemble. In
2025, Tim was selected to represent the Sydney Conservatorium at
the Béla Bartók World Project in Budapest with the premiere of a
new brass quartet. In 2023, Tim also had his brass septet,
'Chasms' toured around China. In 2023, Tim won the Watermark
Composition Prize as part of the Kendall National Violin
Competition for his violin sonata. He has also worked as an
arranger and orchestrator on Schools Spectacular NSW, along with
having scored a number of short films and most notably, the pilot
season for US TV show 'Hartley' (2021), and the feature film
Alakai (2023).
As a conductor, Tim founded Caesura Ensemble, a chamber orchestra
comitted to collaboration with young Australian composers and
performers in unique environments and diverse programmes. He made
his debut in 2023 conducting Iolanthe with the Gilbert and
Sullivan Opera Company Sydney. Tim went on to be a part of the
Vienna Opera Academy in 2024 in July, working with Toby Purser
and Daniel Hoyem-Cavazza. He has also served as an assistant
conductor with The Orchestra Project, Western Sydney
Philharmonic, Ensemble Apex, and the Modest Orchestra.
