Connor Fogarty is a composer from Toowoomba, Queensland, and is now based in Adelaide. He began his music studies at the University of Southern Queensland, where he was tutored in composition by Professor Rhoderick McNeill. In 2018, he graduated with distinction and was awarded the Creative Arts faculty medal.

Fogarty moved to Adelaide in 2019 to study Honours in Composition at the Elder Conservatorium, where he was tutored by Professor Graeme Koehne and Professor Charles Bodman Rae. During this year, his piece, Scherzo and Finale for string quartet was performed by the Australian String Quartet. He was also the winner of the inaugural Adelaide Wind Orchestra composition competition with his piece, Landscapes.

In 2020, Fogarty began a PhD in composition with a project titled The Concerto Concept: A Compositional Exploration of Conflict and Cooperation. During this year he was a winner of the Artology Fanfare competition with his piece, Razzmatazz!. He was also commissioned to write the score for AlleyKat Collective's theatre project, Elpis, Captif de Pandore and subsequently received a Helpmann Academy Grant to fund a recording of the score.

In 2021, he was the winner of the Accompanist's Guild of South Australia Composers' Competition, where his piece, Pygmalion and Galatea for solo cello and piano was performed by Umberto Clerici and Daniel de Borah.

Fogarty's recent career highlights include a performance of his Concerto for Oboe and Wind Orchestra by Celia Craig and the Adelaide Wind Orchestra and participation in the ReClassified Festival where he was commissioned by Recitals Australia to write Acis and Galatea, a new work for Oboe, Viola and Organ. He is currently working on his first symphony which was commissioned by the Adelaide Wind Orchestra with support from the Helpmann Academy's Creative Investment Fellowship.
