Event Details
In what promises to be a beautiful performance, a Steinway from the river suburb of West End, a fortunate survivor of this year's Queensland floods, meets century-old traditional Chinese instruments, the erhu (two-string fiddle) and guzheng (21-string zither). Meditative, enchanting and playful, the poetic nature of Chinese music will be explored with pieces including 'Moon Reflected in Two Springs', 'Beautiful Night' and 'High Mountains, Flowing Water'.
You can enjoy an illuminating look into Chinese culture and music as presenter Li Fern Ong talks with erhu artist, composer and researcher, Dr Nicholas Ng. The concert also features the talents of Jing Jing Lu (guzheng) and Wade Gregory (piano). Concerts broadcast live from the ABC Ferry Road Music Centre, West End, Brisbane. Please be seated by 2.50pm. The live broadcasts begin promptly at 3.00pm.
Performers: Nicholas Ng, Lu Jingjing, Wade Gregory
