Event Details
A meditation on 16th century music and of music from the present for Recorder Quartet. With two premieres of new Australian Music by composers Alice Humphries & Ryan Williams.
DOLCE OMBRE is a recorder quartet made up of some of Australia's most well-known recorder players, including Hannah Coleman, Ruth Wilkinson, Ryan Williams and Alexandra Bailliet-Joly.
Repertoire is chosen from the Medieval era to the sixteenth century, with the performance including timeless works by Heinrich Isaac, and Antonio Cabezon. The concert will then showcase music from the present that was inspired or composed with a reflection on the music of the Renaissance. This will include music by Arvo Part, and two new premieres of music by composers Alice Humphries & Ryan Williams.
Featured non-Australian music: Arvo Part, Pari Intervalla
