Dedicated to performing original/improvised music, multi award winning pianist and composer, Andrea Keller has been described as having “one of Australia’s most consistently interesting musical minds” (Doug Spencer 2007). With two solo albums under her belt and a growing body of work traversing styles, Keller will perform a solo set of her original compositions.
With 30 years of professional experience playing and teaching in Australia and overseas, a strong harmonic sensibility, and an exploratory instinct for tone colour and musical touch, guitarist Geoff Hughes is a unique voice on the Australian scene. This performance reflects the current state of a solo recording that has been in gestation for the last 18 months. The music is largely improvised within a primarily sonic framework but will also feature some reflections on a small and eclectic group of original and borrowed themes.
