Event Details

Transients are a series of trios assembled by Andrea Keller inspired by the philosophy and legacy of esteemed mentor Allan Browne. Based on a collective approach to music making, the trios perform original compositions, improvisations, as well as selections from the American & Australian songbooks.

Launched in January 2016, Transients feature artists who shared connections with Al, as well as those who are emerging in the Australian jazz scene, acknowledging Browne's encouragement, support and mentoring of Keller from the time of her early career. In honour of her honour of Al, Bennetts Lane have made Tuesdays the new Monday (Al's dedicated residency night there) by featuring Transients trio's weekly for the ever-seeable future.

Transients feature: Julien Wilson, Sam Anning, Christopher Hale, James McLean, Ben Robertson, Lewis Pierre-Humbert, Tamara Murphy, Eugene Ball and Stephen Magnusson, each version of ‘Transients' brings with it a unique repertoire and dynamism.

Tonight features Julien Wilson (tenor saxophone) & Sam Anning (double bass).

"Andrea Keller represents all that is wonderful in Australian jazz today; inspired, intelligent, original, courageous and full of a care that honours the past as much as it strives toward the future. " said by everyone who listens intently to her, and Megg who wrote their thoughts down.
