Program: World Premiere of Atoms Of Silence by Andrian Pertout and Symphony no. 8 in D minor by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The Australian Discovery Orchestra was established in 2016 to provide 68 exceptional professional musicians from across the country, the opportunity to come together several times each year to perform repertoire embracing the catalogue of extraordinary orchestral music rarely heard live in-concert, occasional performances of classic masterworks revealed in a new light, and a commitment to premiering new Australian music. Holding to a core belief that experiencing orchestral music is really one of the most humanly transformative activities imaginable, the ADO strives to create unique modes of musical storytelling in every performance.
