Topology’s new show Australians is like a specially composed portrait gallery of eminent Australians, only instead of portraying the faces of our best and brightest, Robert Davidson’s new ground-breaking work focuses on the melodies of their voices. Internationally acclaimed, contemporary ensemble, Topology play music that is adapted from the voices of a wide range of Australians from many walks of life – people like Charles Kingsford-Smith, Percy Grainger, Fred Hollows, Nancy Bird, Don Bradman, Mary Gilmore, Peter Singer, Germaine Greer, Albert Namatjira, Marcus Oliphant, Nancy Wake, to name a few.
Performers: Topology - Christa Powell (violin), Bernard Hoey (viola), Kylie Davidson (piano), Robert Davidson (bass), and John Babbage (saxophone).
