Acacia Quartet make a welcome return to the fifth Newcastle Music Festival, playing Borodin’s string quartet No. 2, and Shostakovich string quartet No. 8, for which Shostakovich wrote a dedication “In remembrance of the victims of fascism and war.” The program also features a work by young Australian composer, Jessica Wells.
