Inspired by the history and human stories, atmosphere, waterways and gardens of Callan Park, this concert features the evocative words of poet, feminist and inmate Louisa Lawson set in a stunning new song cycle by celebrated young Australian composer Andrew Howes. Handcrafted for the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, Song Company, piano and percussion this world premiere concert is a superb realisation of atmosphere and melody. Artistic Director Michelle Leonard will host a conversation at the start of the concerts with the composer and leading authorities on Callan Park’s history to set the scene for this remarkable new work.
